A record crop went on display in the Somerfords Show on Saturday.
visitors showed their finest vegetables and flowers at Brook Farm in Great Somerford.
There was a companion dog show, pony rides and show jumping, a jazz band and plenty of stalls and trade stands.
Chairman Robert Gawthropp was delighted to see the showground packed.
He called it the best for years. “The good weather certainly helped,” he said.The charity duck race raised over £700 for Help for Heroes. Mr Gawthropp added: “We are fortunate to have such an enthusiastic and strong committee who put in lots of hard work and planning.”
With the Fieldview music festival in Little Somerford the villages were buzzing.
Pam Jenkins, secretary of the horticultural and agricultural section, said: “It was a fantastic day, we had record entries.”
Stuart Frayling’s basket of vegetables won the award for best show exhibit.
Linda Gordon scooped the floral cup and Peter White picked up the Banksian Medal from the Royal Horticultural Society for winning the most prize money.
