Scores of celebrities are expected to descend on Wiltshire Golf and Country Club in Wootton Bassett for a Charity Day next week.
Comedy star Tom O’Connor and chef Brian Turner are just two of the many stars who will be attending the event on August 17 to help raise money for the David Nichols Foundation, a charity set up to help speed up stem cell research.
Club owner Eddy Shah, whose wife Jennifer will be hosting the charity day with Peter Alliss, said: “The event is open to the public and each year is attended by nearly 2,000 local people.
“The event has raised over £200,000 in the last two years.
“In spite of the recession, the event has already got 30 three-man teams, but is looking for more local support.”
Each team cost £1,000 to enter, which includes a dinner the night before prepared by The Wiltshire and the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Knightsbridge.
A Jaguar XF will be a hole-in-one prize and other prizes include a week’s holiday in Kenya and Andalucia in Spain.
Anyone interested in putting in a team should contact the club on (01793) 849999.
