People are gearing up for fun and frolics at Pewsey Carnival.
Carnival kicks off with the dance on Friday September 4, at 8pm, in Bouverie Hall.
Then follow two weeks of activities for all ages, culminating in the illuminated procession on September 19.
This year’s features a new event – the children’s carnival and fun day at Pewsey Vale School on September 6.
It starts at noon with a fancy dress parade from the school for those aged up to 11.
Then there’s a party for parade entrants, from 2pm to 4pm, with bouncy castle, Kooky the Clown, a disco, soft play area and face painting. Entry is £1 a child, who must be with an adult.
For those aged eight to 17, there will be street art, dance display, skateboard demonstrations, battle of the bands and X Box competition.
Activities for all ages include rugby, football, pony rides, army obstacle course, climbing wall, mini LandRovers, Scout demonstrations, softball, Kaya drumming and barbecue.
