Swindon Town legend Don Rogers will be teaming up with manager Danny Wilson and new captain Gordon Greer for an audience in the Legends Lounge at the County Ground on Tuesday August 4 at 7.30pm.
The evening, in aid of the Red Army Fund, will be hosted by another former Town player, Phil King. Fans will have the chance to quiz the manager and one of his key summer signings - and new captain - just days before the start of the new season and also quiz Don Rogers.
The fundraising event of the evening will be an auction with some fantastic items available including: - An away experience for the match at Brentford on Oct 3rd. Breakfast with the squad at the County Ground, Travel to and from the game on the team coach, help lay out the kit, and watch the game from the directors box, 2 x 09/10 season tickets a chance to train with the stfc squad, and signed shirts among other items.
The Red Army Fund founded in 2003 to raise money to augment the clubs budget for bringing in new signings either permanently or on loan. To date more than £33,000 has been raised helping to fund the signings of 4 players, the first being Michael Proctor in February 2005, and the latest being Gordon Greer last season, a signing which was instrumental in helping the side to climb clear of the relegation zone.
TrustSTFC Red Army Fund coordinator Paul Wardell commented: "We are very grateful to Don, Danny, Gordon, and Phil for giving up their time to support the Red Army Fund.
It was great to be able to help out with the signing of Gordon last season. That is exactly why the fund was set up and we want to be able to help out on more occasions in the future."
The evening will be the perfect way to warm up for the new season. Entry is free, but do remember to bring your chequebook with you to bid for those auction items.
