A man who denied raping an elderly woman, who was walking her dog near Yatesbury, has been found guilty at Swindon Crown Court today.
Sentencing of Michael Alcock from Wales will take place on August 21. He has been remanded in custody.
Senior Investigating Officer, DI Matt Davey said: "Our first thoughts are with the victim and her family and we hope that today's result will help to give them some peace of mind.
"This was a despicable attack and Wiltshire Police conducted a thorough and professional investigation in which a dedicated team of officers worked tirelessly to identify the offender and bring him to justice.
"The court by the today has demonstrated the gravity of this offence and the commitment of the justice system to remove sex offenders from the community.
"Wiltshire Police are dedicated to making Wiltshire the safest County in the Country and will continue in its efforts to bring offenders to justice particularly those who are dangerous or a threat to ourcommunities."
