Charlie Moss, a former customer of the Southgate Inn in Devizes, has become landlord.
Mr Moss, 21, ran the pub, in Potterne Road, for three months when previous landlord Eddie Bonnifinni left earlier this year.
The pub had been closed since mid-April after Mr Bonnifinni’s disappearance.
Mr Moss, a former Lavington School pupil, has signed a three year lease with the pub’s owners the Hop Back Brewery.
The pub reopened on Monday and, tomorrow night, Mr Moss is celebrating with a free barbecue.
He and his wife, Michelle, also 21, have refurbished the inside of the pub.
Mr Moss said he wants to get the friendly atmosphere back at the pub.
“To me the Southgate is almost like a village pub but in a town,” he said.
