A small army of toddlers marched around Redland School playing field in Chippenham on Tuesday as part of Barnardo’s annual Big Toddle.
More than 50 children from Redland Nursery in Brook Street dressed as their favourite cartoon characters to take part in the half mile walk around the field in aid of Barnardo’s South West.
The youngsters donned outfits including Spiderman, Peppa Pig and characters from Cars and were joined by their childminders and parents for the event.
Redland Nursery spokesman Kirsty Nokes said: “The Big Toddle is a fantastic event as it’s all about children helping children.
“Everyone has been really excited about taking part, and its a good opportunity for parents to get to know each other in a fun setting.
“Every year it’s a great success and helps to raise hundreds of pounds for Barnardo’s. We don’t know how much money we have raised yet, but the children have had a great time.
“The older children do ten laps of the field and the younger ones do as much as they can as some of them haven’t been walking long, but they did brilliantly.”
Barnardo’s South West is responsible for projects in Swindon, Malmesbury, Wootton Bassett, Calne, Chippenham and Trowbridge.
