This was the dramatic scene outside Southbroom Junior School, Devizes, this afternoon.
The driver of a Wincanton lorry was taken to hospital after his vehicle collided with railings and a brick wall in Nursteed Road, Devizes.
The impact also knocked over a traffic light column outside the entrance to Southbroom Junior School and the Nursteed Centre at about 1.45pm today.
No-one else was injured. It is understood the driver of the lorry was taken to hospital as a precaution.
Pupils leaving the school an hour and a half later were not able to cross the road at the site of collision.
