A man accused of raping a pensioner as she walked her dog in woodland will go on trial today.
Michael Alcock, 27, is said to have carried out the sex attack at an isolated spot near Yatesbury, Wiltshire, in December last year.
He will stand trial for rape and possession of a class C drug at Swindon Crown Court.
Alcock, of Bridgend, South Wales, is remanded in custody.
The woman, who is in her 70s, was walking along a small wooded area down a slip road off the A4 between Cherhill and Beckhampton when she alleges she was attacked.
Police launched a manhunt and stopped traffic on the A4 the following day to speak to motorists to gather information.
