The Barry Cooper murder trial ended abruptly this morning for legal reasons.Today was the ninth day of the trial at Winchester Crown Court.
The judge, His Honour Judge Guy Boney QC, had begun his summing up yesterday but this morning he told the jury they would be discharged.
Karl Quincey, 33, of Longcroft Avenue, Devizes, who denies the murder of Barry Cooper, will be retried at a later date.
Mr Cooper, who was 28 and of Eastleigh Road, Devizes, died of multiple stab wounds following an incident in the passageway of a block of flats in Victoria Road, Devizes, on June 27 last year.
Quincey has been remanded in custody.
