Grandparents Terry and Doreen Soule, whose grandson is a pupil at St Joseph’s in Malmesbury, have created a Garden of Reflection for pupils and staff.
The garden is in the prayer garden at the Catholic primary school and pupils will be able to get away from the hustle and bustle at break time and during some Religious Education lessons.
The garden was opened in a service of dedication on Friday which was attended by deputy mayor Patrick Goldstone, his wife Frances, parents and teachers.
Pupils sang at the outdoor service and chairman of the governors Janine Birkin-Hewitt described the music as wonderful.
“Despite it being outside, the acoustics in that part of the garden were marvellous,” she said.
The garden has been designed around spiritual and Christian themes.
“We have had our first outdoor mass there and hopefully this will become a regular feature throughout the summer,” said Mrs Birkin-Hewitt. “It really is very beautiful.”
