Carol Smith-Dowse, centre back, and Rosemary Sandys is centre front, with friends
Friends have given Bryan and Carol Smith-Dowse, former licensees of the White Bear pub in Devizes, a grand farewell.
They raised £1,500 for the couple with a sponsored walk along the Kennet and Avon Canal on May 23.
Organiser Rosemary Sandys said: “We wanted to do something towards helping Carol and Bryan settle into their new home since some conversions are necessary due to Bryan’s accident last year.”
Mr Smith-Dowse suffered a head injury after a fall at the pub before Christmas. He is now out of hospital and making a good recovery, although the accident has ended his days as a landlord.
Mrs Sandys thanked those who contributed to the farewell present.
