Volunteers planning this year’s Emergency Services Show at Hullavington airfield have been given a boost after winning an Excellence Award from the Fire and Rescue Service.
Last year’s show, the fourth, attracted 8,000 visitors from across the country who saw an array of emergency service vehicles and demonstrations.
The event is run by a volunteer committee including retained firefighters and other personnel from Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service, Wiltshire Police and Great Western Ambulance Service.
Committee chairman Chris Harvey said: “It was a great honour to win this award, as it recognised the hard work put in by volunteers from all three blue light services to make the show a success.”
Sponsors are now being sought to support this year’s show, taking place on September 13, which will again plough all profits into charitable donations.
