Children from Chernobyl had a day trip to Lackham Country Park on Saturday as part of their summer trip to the UK.
The 12 children ranging from four to 11 in age visited the park with the families who they are staying with for a month as part of the Chernobyl Children’s Project UK, which aims to extend the life expectancy of youngsters who live in a land contaminated by radiation from the 1986 disaster.
Sheena Awdry, visitor services officer, said: “The trip went really well as the children got to have a look around the animal centre."
