The village of Urchfont, near Devizes, is upgrading its annual church fete into a full-blown Midsummer Fair.
The event will get under way on Saturday at 2pm when fair princess, 11-year-old Annabel Lee, and her attendants, sisters Tamar and Holly Reavenall-Cashmore, eight and seven, all of them pupils at Urchfont School, cut the ribbon at the entrance to Manor Farm House.
As well as the usual stalls and games there will be a birds of prey exhibit from the Hawk Conservancy in Andover, inflatable pole jousting, a miniature railway, an obstacle course, country dancing, maypole dancing and lots of fun races.
The legendary boat race across the duck pond has been resurrected and Princess Annabel Lee will be the first to take a trip at 5.30pm. There will be a tug of war competition and a chance to try your hand at pottery and lacemaking.
Festivities are due to continue until 8.30pm.
