The A360 Potterne Road in Devizes is closed after a combine harvester was in collision with a car just after 5pm.
Police said traffic is building up in the area and is warning drivers to avoid it if possible.
The Wiltshire Air Ambulance and road ambulancs are at the scene, together with one fire engine from Devizes.
Police say the road will be closed for several hours.
