Dyson in Malmesbury has been given the employer of the year award by Wiltshire Fire Service for supporting the Malmesbury retained fire crew.
Three personnel from the station are currently employed by Dyson and have permission to leave the workplace to give fire and medical cover for Malmesbury and the surrounding areas.
A spokesman for Wiltshire Fire Service said: “On many occasions during the daytime, the Malmesbury appliance has been crewed mainly by Dyson employees.
“The fact that the crew has provided uninterrupted cover for almost seven years, without the appliance ever being unavailable because of insufficient crew, is in part down to the company’s on-going support.”
Peter Richardson, Dyson Chief Operating Officer said the company was pleased to support the service.
He said: “We’re proud of Paul Wright, Chris Harvey and Andy Mill’s vital contribution to the local community as retained firefighters.
“This award is a tribute to their bravery and commitment in carrying out this essential work.
“We’re delighted to be able to support them.”
