Newlyeds Aaron and Amber Bewley have returned from honeymoon having not only dined with explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes but also raised more than £3,000 for a cancer charity after climbing to Mount Everest base camp.

The couple who returned from Kathmandu, Nepal, last month raised £3,391.68 for Prostate Cancer Charity after Mr Bewley’s father, Jonathon had a cancer scare last year.

Aaron Bewley said: “The whole trip was amazing. It was a lot harder than we imagined. It wasn’t just the walking but also the altitude. By the second day we were suffering shortness of breath, nausea and headaches.

“We were also dealing with no running water, no showers, outdoor toilets and eating curried potatoes and boiled rice every day.

“We would like to thank everyone for their support.”
