Another Chippenham High Street shop is set to be left empty as the national closure of Cheltenham and Gloucester branches impacts on the town.
Four jobs will be lost when the branch in Borough Parade closes on November 6.
Chippenham Chamber of Commerce vice chairman Rob Perks said: “It is another blow for the High Street.
“This obviously makes things even more difficult to bring people into the town centre when there are more empty shops.
“This is a national decision and I can’t see that lobbying Lloyds is going to do much good, especially when they have a Lloyds and a Halifax branch from the same group already here.”
He added: “It’s four more jobs that have been lost to go along with the redundancies from Woolworths.
“I suspect there will be more to come.”
