The action at the Lansdown course gets underway at 2.15 with a two year old Maiden Auction Stakes run over five furlongs.

Lambourn trainer Tom Dascombe has his youngsters in sparkling form and Where’s The Soap making his racecourse debut could be worth keeping an eye on.

Two year olds with experience in the race include Pinnacle Lad, Cane Cat and Palisades Park but a market move for the Dascombe runner could be a good guide.

In the following race, another two year old contest Wiltshire trainer Richard Hannon has four entries and his selected runner could be the one to be on.

The Royal Ascot Selling Stakes is a popular race with visitors to the course who are able to watch the winner of the race being auctioned in the winners enclosure after the race.

Chepstow trainer Milton Bradley won the race last year with Currency and holds four entries in the race the best of which could be Brazilian Brush. However, should Ogbourne trainer Peter Makin run his entry Green Velvet he would be the columns selection.

The one mile three and a half furlong handicap could go to the Andrew Balding trained Cool Strike and the last race on the card to West Country trainer Ron Hodges with Goose Green.

Channel 4 cameras will be in action at Sandown and York on Saturday with the totescoop 6 Handicap for three year olds over seven furlongs, the first race to be covered at Sandown.

Former Manton trainer John Gosden would look to have a good chance with Brave Echo, the mount of Jimmy Fortune with the danger coming from recent winner Cumana Bay ridden by Richard Hughes for trainer Richard Hannon.

The toteswinger Handicap for older horses over the same trip could go to the Michael Jarvis trained Dixey, ridden by Philip Robinson while the feature race on the card the Listed Scurry Stakes could be won by the Jeremy Noseda trained Adorn, the mount of Ryan Moore.

Most valuable race on the card at York is the Reg Griffin Memorial Trophy, a Heritage Handicap over six furlongs that could be a tricky race to solve.

Top weight Enderby Spirit the mount of Tom Eaves is the tentative selection.

Also on Saturday there are evening meetings at Leicester and Lingfield with a jump meeting at Hexham.

Greatwood, home for retired racehorses hold their annual Open Day on Sunday June 14th when racing fans in the area will be able to cast their eyes over some of their old favourites who have retired and are living a happy life in stunning surroundings.

The William Hill sponsored event will include a parade of former champions including New Seeker, Bindaree, Cool Dawn and Edredon Bleu together with Greatwood favourites Deano’s Beano, Montendre and Potentate.

Bob Hogg will be giving an entertaining display with his working sheepdogs, ducks and geese and there will be tradestands, a picnic area and plenty more to occupy the family.

Entry is £5, under 12s free, gates are open at midday and the venue is on the A345 just outside Marlborough.
