More than 200 runners put their best foot forward to raise school cash on Sunday.
The runners were taking part in the second Friends of St Mary’s school fun run.
Organisers from the school said the day was a huge success with 120 runners taking part in the five mile race and more than100 in the junior fun run.
Many of the participants were in fancy dress hoping to raise money for the schools new piano.
Simon Nott, 15, set a new course record of 27 minutes and 1 second in the five mile race.
Co-organiser Gemma Collings, who has four children at said: “It was a fantastic, family day out. We’re just glad the rain held off.
“We would like to thank our sponsors Get Stuffed Parties for supplying the prizes for the children, Sainsbury’s for donating water and Aztec Balloons for creating a fantastic display at the race.”
The school is hoping for around £800 this year if not more, hopefully next year will be just as successful.
Mary James, who also organised the day, said: “It went really well and we’re hoping it to increase in size each year so we can continue to raise more money.”
The day was organised with Corsham Running Club and Chippenham Rugby Club.
