Corsham Town Council is looking for volunteers to lend a hand in preparation for the South West in Bloom in a bid to win a gold award this year.

A range of voluntary tasks can be undertaken to help the town look its best for the judging of Corsham in Bloom between July 8 and 22.

Information and Community Officer, Emma Hucklebridge said: “It’s time to prepare for this year’s South West in Bloom Competition. After achieving a Silver Gilt award in 2008, we are aiming for Gold.

“To achieve this we need help and participation from as many people and community groups as possible.”

People can get involved by lending a hand with manual work, such as tidying up gardens and litter picking to keep the streets clear.

There is also an allotment competition, this year where awards will be given to the best overall allotment site and best overall allotment plot – details and entry forms will be available online and at the town hall soon.

Alongside the South West in Bloom Competition Corsham in Bloom also holds its own competitions for the people of the town.

The categories include Best Public Building or Structure and Best Commercial Building.
