Karl Quincey goes on trial for the murder of Devizes man Barry Cooper is due to start today at Winchester Crown Court.
Quincey, 33, of Longcroft Avenue, Devizes, denies murdering Mr Cooper.
Mr Cooper, who was 28 and of Eastleigh Road, Devizes, died on June 28 last year at the Great Western Hospital, Swindon, the day after he was found with multiple stab wounds to his neck in a stairwell of a block of flats in Victoria Road, Devizes.
The trial is due to take two weeks and will be presided over by His Honour Judge Guy Boney QC.
