Wildcats' Head Coach, Ryan Aldridge, has pulled off the coup of the summer so far by securing the signature of 6'4" Czech-born defenceman, Jan Krajicek.
Krajicek has an impressive pedigree, including ten years in the Czech Extraliga, spells with the British National League's Edinburgh Captials as well as the Elite League's Newcastle Vipers and Nottingham Panthers.
In the EPL, Jan was instrumental in the 07/08 playoff-winning Slough Jets squad and last season was widely acknowledged as being the key component of the turn around in fortunes for the Romford Raiders when he joined mid-November last year, amassing 48 points in 35 league games with the now-defunct Essex club.
"I am delighted to confirm that we have signed the best D-man in the league by a country mile," said Aldridge.
"Jan is by far the most gifted and most experienced defenceman in the EPL - if not the country.
"He will bring what we need in defence and a whole lot more.
"He will be the quarter-back on the powerplay - something we did not have last year.
"Jan has size, skill, patience, a great shot and I am thoroughly delighted that he is on board for next season."
Krajicek's signature takes the confirmed roster for the 09/10 campaign to six skaters with Jan becoming the third new face to the roster alongside Foord and Baird from Bracknell.

The Wildcats are also pleased to confirm that Jamie Hayes has secured a contract with the Elite League's Cardiff Devils. Everyone at the club wishes Hayes, who turned 19 last weekend, success in the country's top league.
