On Saturday (4th April) the Wildcats will take to the ice for their Play Off match against the Peterborough Phantoms. The game will be the final home game of the 2008/2009 season and final time the Cats grace the Link Centre Ice Rink until September! For this special game the Wildcats will be welcoming along Councillor Nick Martin.
Councillor Martin has been a strong proponent of the Wildcats in the Community programme. In particular, he was instrumental in the funding application that enabled the Community programme to procure safety equipment for the Wildcats Learn to Skate programme that has been so successful this year.
Councillor Martin will be on-ice for a ceremonial puck drop featuring the two Team Captains before the National Anthem on the night. Wildcats General Manager Steve Nell is looking forward to welcoming him to the game.
"Councilor Martin has been a great friend to the Swindon Wildcats and our Wildcats in the Community programme," he said.
"It is with great pleasure that we welcome him along to start off this exciting climax to our 2008/2009 season."
Tickets for the Play-Off game are on sale now and can be bought by calling 01793 445566, online via www.swindonwildcats.com or in person at the Link Centre.
