The Swindon Wildcats have announced that they will be parting company with head coach Pete Russell with immediate effect.
Russell has been the Wildcats head coach since the 2006/2007 season. Club general manager Steve Nell explains below how due to the club now moving in a different direction and new strategies being put into place, that a change was needed.
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank Pete for his services to the club over recent times and wish him all the best for the future, as everyone does here," he said.
"Pete has been a great asset to the club but we are now moving in a different direction and are adopting new strategies to move forward.
"Due to this and with the added pressures of the current economic climate we felt that this was a change that needed to happen."
The next Wildcats game is on Saturday 29th November 2008 v the Slough Jets with face off being at the usual 5.45pm.
