AN Amesbury man says his day was ‘turned around’ when hundreds of pounds worth of scratch cards were mistakenly delivered to his house.
Graham Trewren, 47, lives in Oak Place, a stone's throw from the London Road B&M store where the National Lottery scratch cards valued at £540 were supposed to be sent.
He was surprised to be handed the parcel by a delivery driver, who then left and drove away without realising his mistake.
Mr Trewren – who was expecting a parcel of a similar size to be delivered – took some pictures before heading across the road to take them to their rightful home.
He said: “It was a normal-sized parcel, and he [the delivery driver] just walked off. B&M is literally across the road from me. It was quite amusing.
“I was due a parcel, so I opened it, and it was only when the lottery receipt came out that I thought, ‘they’re definitely not for me!’. It was full two full packs of scratch cards.”
The receipt shows he was sent scratch cards for two games: cards for the £300k Birthday game worth £240, and Black Pearl Deluxe cards worth £300.
Mr Trewren said he had been reading the news – including the latest coverage of the war in Ukraine – shortly before the mix-up happened.
“It just turned my day around,” he said.
