A Christmas tree has arrived in a town centre, and with it a dose of Christmas cheer.
On November 20 Calne Town Council welcomed the tree to their town on The Strand, with the help of local businesses and their own employees.
The council wrote: “Look out, Calne! The Christmas Tree has landed on The Strand! Thanks to the generosity of Bowood House & Gardens, the hard work of Haines Construction and our own Grounds Team, festive cheer is officially in town!!”
It is in time for the Calne Christmas Festival of Lights on November 30, when hundreds of lanterns will enter the town centre before the lights are switched on.
After that, there will be a Calne Town Hall Christmas Market on December 7, and another on market on December 14.

But maybe the most unique event will be the December 14 Santa Scamper, when countless Father Christmas impersonators will run for charity.
Some Christmas events around Wiltshire have had worse luck due to the weather brought on by Storm Bert, and have had to postpone.
The Swindon Christmas light switch-on was scheduled for November 22 and 23 but will now happen the following weekend to avoid the over 50mph winds forecast.
