Two people have been cut from a vehicle and a man in his 60s has been rushed to hospital after crashing into a field.

Emergency services were called to the A350 near Kington Langley on Tuesday evening just after 5pm, following reports of a road traffic collision.

Police closed the road in both directions while fire service crews from Chippenham cut two passengers from a vehicle which had driven off the carriageway and landed in a field.  

One ambulance, an operations officer, a critical care car and a hazardous response team responded to the incident and a man in his 60s was taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “We responded to reports of a road traffic collision on A350, near Kington Langley just after 5pm yesterday (20/11).

“The incident involved a single vehicle coming off the carriageway and landing in a field.

“A man in his 60s was taken to hospital with injuries not thought to be life threatening.”

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 17:13hrs on Tuesday 19 November to a road traffic collision near Chippenham. We sent one double-crewed land ambulance, an operations officer, a critical care car and the hazardous response team to the scene.”

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service added: “We were called at 5.14pm yesterday (19 November) to Plough Lane, Kington Langley to reports of a one vehicle road traffic collision.

“Two crews from Chippenham attended where they used hydraulic cutting equipment to release two casualties from the vehicle and they were handed into the care of the ambulance service. The scene was made safe, and our stop was at 6.13pm.”
