Guests staying at a hotel in Swindon were rushed out of the building after a fire broke out on the roof.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service were called to The Campanile hotel on Welton Road, Delta Business Park, in the early hours of Monday morning after reports of smoke coming from the roof.
Multiple fire crews from across Wiltshire raced to the hotel at around 2.40am, and eight breathing apparatus wearers were sent into the building for a full scale investigation.
According to emergency responders, there were approximately 30 guests and staff who had been in the premises at the time and were quickly evacuated.
"Two hose reel jets were used to extinguish the fire, which was contained to one area of the roof," said a spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service.
"The incident was scaled back after about two hours, and the stop was at 6.10am, with all appliances having left the scene by 6.45am.
"Staff and guests were allowed back into a downstairs room once we knew it was safe."
According to the fire service, the incident is believed to have started "accidentally" and the hotel is not being believed to be being treated as a crime scene.
The current state of the building is unclear and we are awaiting further updates from Wiltshire Police.
