A podcast from Wiltshire has won an international award.
Access to Inspiration was named a winner in the third annual Signal Awards in the Most Inspirational Podcast category for shows.
The winners were selected by the Signal Awards Judging Academy, which includes notable figures in the podcast industry such as Jonathan Hirsch, VP global podcasts at Sony Music, and Chris Bannon, the SVP, head of global audio at Condé Nast.
The Signal Awards recognises those shaping the podcast industry and the storytelling medium globally.
Jemma Brown, general manager of the Signal Awards, said: "Access to Inspiration made an impression on the Judging Academy.
"This award is a testament to the skill, ingenuity, and vision of its creators."
Sue Stockdale, Access to Inspiration host, said: "Clive Steeper, my co-founder, and I are delighted that the podcast has been recognised, and we hope it inspires more people to engage in the medium of podcasting as a guest, or as a host.
"The power of sharing stories of inspiring people is much needed in the world today."
Access to Inspiration was created by Sue Stockdale and Clive Steeper, who live in Broad Town, in 2020 with a mission to encourage listeners to reflect on the world differently.
The podcast is ranked in the top 10 per cent most popular globally, according to Listen Notes, and was the first podcast in the industry to publish an impact report in 2021, reporting how it impacts listeners, guests, and the wider community.
The Signal Awards are focused on uplifting the podcast medium by recognising the most potent, meaningful, and unprecedented audio projects being made today.
Now in its third year, entrants to The Signal Awards are reviewed by The Signal Awards Judging Academy, an esteemed collective made up of the architects, instigators and trailblazers of the medium.
Once a year, the academy listens closely to thousands of hours of audio, selecting the strongest work to be elevated to the status of award-winning.
Each year, the Signal Awards present Gold, Silver, and Bronze Award winners, and the listening public votes for their favourite finalists to take home the additional honour of Listener’s Choice Award in each category.
The 2024 Listener’s Choice Awards drew more than 170,000 public votes in just two weeks from nearly 75,000 fans around the world, reaffirming the growing prevalence that podcasts and their creators have in listeners’ life patterns and daily routines.
