Changes have been made to plans for the future of a historic former brewery site earmarked for housing.
Amended plans for the redevelopment of the former Wadworth Brewery on Northgate Street in Devizes have been submitted by developer Backhouse.
This is the latest of several revisions to the planning application for 102 new homes on the site since it was first submitted to Wiltshire Council in May 2023.
The changes come after objections to the details of the scheme from residents, town councillors, and the Assize Court Trust.
Concerns about traffic, the design of the development, and the impact of the scheme on the nearby Assize Court were among the reasons.
The latest proposal has tried to address these concerns and will be presented to Devizes town councillors at a meeting on Tuesday, November 5.

It includes “significant changes” to the layout of the site’s western boundary and some smaller changes to the northern and eastern boundaries.
Backhouse says it has taken comments from interested parties on board when developing its latest plans.
In the firm’s design and access statement, a spokesperson said: “This development is set in an area of excellent transport accessibility.
“It is located in a sustainable location, within walking distance of Devizes town centre, and has excellent access to local amenities.
“It is an ideal location for a high-quality residential scheme. It encompasses the advice and guidance provided by officers from Wiltshire Council, and comments from the public consultation and exhibition.
“The design has been developed to relate to the local context and to balance the requirements of stakeholders.”
The developer added that the residential scheme would bring the former brewery back into use after Wadworth moved its operations to its new Folly Road facility.
A spokesperson added: “This design and access statement sets out the design approach to demonstrate how the proposed new residential development will enhance the setting of the Wadworth Brewery building through considered design that sensitively integrates with its immediate context.
“The design aims to re-instate the site’s historic former residential use and create new links and green spaces for current and future residents of Devizes to enjoy.
“It brings a prominent site, soon to be unoccupied having been in industrial use for many years, back into the use of the residents of Devizes.”
At a special planning meeting on Tuesday, Devizes Town Council will decide if it has any objections to the revised plans.
