A Wiltshire based firm is the subject of a potential international takeover bid after striking an £8 million expansion deal.

Good Energy, a Chippenham based renewable energy company, has received an unsolicited proposal from the Dubai technology group Esyasoft.

The proposal relates to a potential offer for the entire issued and to be issued share capital of the company, although at this stage there is no assurance that a firm bid will be made.

The Good Energy board is currently evaluating the offer and is consulting with its financial and legal advisors.

Esyasoft must confirm whether it intends to submit a bid by 5pm on November 25.

The potential takeover comes after Good Energy confirmed the acquisition of Empower Energy, a commercial focused solar installation company, for up to £8 million.

This deal is the fifth acquisition Good Energy has made in the past two years and the fourth in solar installation services.

Good Energy was “delighted” with the acquisition, which it says represents a “major step” in its strategic objectives.
