Two stolen cars have been found by the police with some help from a local resident.
Wiltshire Police shared that they had recovered two vehicles - a red van and a green KIA - in Old Town and Greenmeadow in Swindon.
A police spokesperson said: “Our officers have recovered two stolen vehicles within 48hrs.
“It’s always a highlight of the shift when you can get someone’s property back to them.”
Photos released by police show that one of the stolen vehicles, the green Kia, was retrieved by a vehicle transporter on tank treads.
In another photo a Wiltshire Police officer can be seen looking very happy next to the red van they have located.
However, the force was reminded by a commenter that they received vital help from a local resident.
They said: “The police didn't track down the green one. A lady from Old Town did but good result either way!”

Wiltshire Police recognised this fact and thanked her for the help, saying: “Apologies, and our thanks to her then.”
Earlier in the year a stolen vehicle was identified by police who noticed it parked particularly badly on a Swindon street.
The car, a black Vauxhall Insignia, was parked with one wheel on the curb, pointing into the road at an angle.
“Nosey” police officers made enquiries and discovered the car to be a dumped stolen car, which was then recovered.
