A Somerset man has been banned from entering the Next retail store in Trowbridge for the next two years after being convicted of shoplifting.

Zachary Bevis, of Ashtree Road in Frome, was sentenced for eight counts of theft from a shop at Salisbury Law Court on Friday, October 4.

The 24-year-old pleaded guilty to all eight offences, which included thefts totalling more than £1,433 worth of items from Next, Sainsbury’s, and Tesco in Trowbridge, and the Co-op in Bradford on Avon.

The products stolen included hundreds of pounds worth of clothes, two bottles of alcohol, and food items.

Bevis also admitted entering an address in Trowbridge which was under a closure order on Wednesday, August 21.

He was given a total prison sentence of 36 weeks, suspended for two years, must not enter Next in Trowbridge for two years, and must complete 50 hours of unpaid work.
