Argos is set to open a new branch “soon” in a busy Wiltshire supermarket.

The retailer will begin offering services at the Sainsbury’s store at Elms Cross Shopping Centre in Bradford on Avon.

Signs at the shop have been advertising the move for some time, promising that “Argos is opening soon in Sainsbury’s.”

While Sainsbury’s would not confirm an exact opening date when asked, staff at the store hope the Argos service will be operational within two to three weeks.

The Argos website indicates that the new branch will be a click and collect service collection point, operating between 7am and 9pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.

Signs at the store say that it will be located at the checkouts.

The site reminds customers to pay online before collecting their products in store.

Argos was founded in November 1972 and was acquired by Sainsbury’s in 2016.

It offers a huge range of products that would not otherwise be available in the supermarket, and trades both online at stores around the country.

It still boasts 29 million shop customers and nearly a billion online visitors a year.
