Police have launched an investigation into alleged criminal damage after “disgusting” graffiti was sprayed within view of a primary school.

Councillors and residents were outraged after offensive messages were spray painted onto a wall along Frogwell, Chippenham, outside St Peter’s Academy.

Police are investigating graffiti left on a garage during September 26 and have since appealed for any witnesses to come forward.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for witnesses following criminal damage to garages on Frogwell, Chippenham.

“Sometime on September 26 garage doors were sprayed with offensive graffiti.

“Officers have been carrying out CCTV and house to house enquiries and the council has removed the paint.

Before it was removed, Cllr Nic Puntis, the representative for Cepen Park and Derriads, said he was “disgusted” by the most recent graffiti.

At the time, he added: “I am disgusted at the Graffiti on a wall along Frogwell.

“This is on a wall that is directly in the view of the primary school.

“If anyone has any information about who might have done this, please DM me.

“I will be getting it removed, even if I have to do it myself.”
