A “leading private school” in Wiltshire has been acquired by the Inspired Learning Group (ILG).

St Francis School in Pewsey will join ILG’s portfolio of 25 independent schools and nurseries from the Hayfran Trust on Saturday, November 30.

The school, which was founded in 1941, is looking to “secure its future” and continue with development plans to “enhance the education provision and facilities” on offer at the site.

Governors decided that joining ILG’s collection of schools would offer a “a long term, sustainable solution” that will allow them to do this effectively.

The school currently provides education for children aged between three months and 13 years, on a 17-acre site.

Headteacher David Lee believes the move will allow the school to fully realise its ambitions.

He said: “St Francis School proudly boasts a rich history of educating and inspiring children to become confident, compassionate individuals, nurtured within our caring community to realise their full potential.

“Our shared values with ILG make this partnership an ideal match, allowing us to prioritise the well-being of our school community, while continuing to celebrate our unique identity and traditions of academic and pastoral excellence.

“I am genuinely excited to collaborate with the ILG family, whose support will help us fully realise our ambitions for St Francis School and enhance our already outstanding education.”

ILG says it is committed to providing “significant investment” in the school’s facilities and professional development for staff to ensure that high standards of teaching and learning can be maintained and developed.

It added it will work closely with Mr Lee to deliver his vision for the school.

The group is based in Northwest London and has a team of business and education consultants, and an advisory board for each of its schools.
