Wiltshire residents have less than a week to participate in the consultation for a new £25 million leisure centre in Trowbridge.

If approved, Trowbridge’s new leisure centre would have facilities such as a six-lane 25m swimming pool, a smaller learner pool, and a gym with 120 exercise stations.

An immersive spin studio and a café are also included in the project proposal.

Cllr Ian Blair-Pilling said: “I’d encourage anyone interested to provide feedback on the application as the engagement we’ve had throughout the project has so far as been invaluable, helping to inform our thinking.

“If planning consent is granted, it will be exciting to see our vision of a centre that provides health, wellbeing, social and economic benefits start to become a reality.”

The £25 million leisure centre will be located in the heart of Trowbridge town centre on its preferred East Wing site just across the road from County Hall.

Earlier this year, the council confirmed that capital funding had been earmarked to make improvements to some of the county's fitness facilities in its leisure centres.

This included planned work at Devizes Leisure Centre, Marlborough Leisure Centre and Warminster Sports Centre.
