A Wiltshire couple have won a prestigious prize at the annual Farmers Weekly Awards.
Nick and Lucy Tyler, who run Kingsplay Farming in Heddington, were named Mixed Farmer of the Year 2024 at an awards night at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on Thursday, October 3.
The husband and wife team are responsible for 850 hectares of mixed dairy, beef, and arable farm on the Wiltshire Downs.
They have been recognised for their “dedication to educating schoolchildren about UK agriculture” and their “unique” marketing strategies.
This includes using social media platforms to market their produce, such as a campaign called #WagyuWednesday, and sharing recipe videos to drive engagement.

The couple have also launched a scheme which sees every pupil from two local primary schools visit the farm every year, to educate children about the industry.
There are plans to expand this scheme further in the future.
Farmers Weekly also praised the Tylers for their dedication to sustainability and animal welfare.
A spokesperson added: “Their mission is clear – to enhance the health and welfare of animals to produce quality food, all while putting sustainability and marketing at the core of their business.”
In total, the farm boasts 500 Holstein-Friesian cows producing dairy, a beef enterprise of 300 Wagyu-cross beef cattle, and 400 hectares of combinable winter wheat and spring barley.
