A national retailer has denied rumours that it plans to close its branch in a Wiltshire town centre.
Speculation had been circulating that Iceland was considering shutting its store in Chippenham Market Place when the supermarket came to the end of its lease on the property.
But the chain has moved to shut down these claims, telling this paper that there are currently no plans to relocate or leave the town.
A spokesperson said: “Our team has confirmed that this store has no current plans for closure.”

If Iceland had chosen to leave at the end of its lease, it would have followed Tesco which closed its Emery Gate superstore in August before opening a smaller High Street branch.
While the current store looks set to stay, there could be new additions coming to the first and second floors of the building.
This space is currently on the market and is available on a new lease after most recently being used as offices.
But Huw Thomas Commercial, the firm marketing the property, says there is potential for a variety of uses for the unit above the Iceland store.
It suggests the space could be used for educational purposes, as a studio, or as a community facility.
