Cows close to the A303 near Stonehenge caused long delays for drivers at the weekend.
At around 10am on Saturday, September 14, Wiltshire Police were called to the A303 near Amesbury due to cows near the carriageway.
Drivers were forced to slow down for the animals, who were too close to the fast traffic.
Reports on social media said that traffic was stopped by police at around 10.45am.
After midday, National Highways continued to report that drivers were facing delays, but removed any warning of animals in the road.
A police spokesperson said: "We were made aware of cows close to the A303 just after 10am on Saturda. We assisted with finding their owner, making them and road users safe."
