Several benches in a memorial garden in a Wiltshire park have been damaged.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information to the reported criminal damage that happened between 8am on Wednesday, August 14 and 11am on Thursday, August 15 in the Castlefields Park in Calne.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: "Local neighbourhood officers have been investigating this matter fully since the report was made to us, where several local children have been questioned on their possible involvement in this matter.

"Other local lines of enquiry have also been exhausted, such as checking nearby CCTV and door-to-door consultations.

"At the time, this damage was discovered it was posted on local social media pages.

"All the information given from those posts has been actioned by local officers.

"We are now posting this appeal  in an attempt to gain any further lines of enquiry.

"This has been done in consultation with one of the parents connected to the garden.
