A yellow weather warning has been extended into the weekend with Possible thunderstorms predicted.

While the Met Office predicts that the day’s rain will clear in the evening, it will return on Saturday with possible thunder on Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday

Saturday starts with bright spells and mostly spells at 20 degrees. But the Met Office predicts: “From around late morning some showers are likely to break out, these perhaps turning heavy and thundery.”

It is reporting a weather warning for Saturday extending across north Wiltshire and south Wales.

The warning states: “There is the potential for further spells of heavy rain across parts of southern UK over the weekend.”

Sunday

Sunday will be cloudy changing with a chance of heavy showers and thunderstorms.

It will be 20 degrees, and there is no weather warning in place for Sunday.

Next week

For next week, there is a chance that further weather warnings could be issued.

Met Office Deputy Chief Meteorologist Dan Harris added: “Reminiscent of this time last week, the forecast for later this weekend comes with larger uncertainties than average.

“We are keeping warnings under review, and will look to issue them over the weekend as confidence increases, so please keep up to date with our latest forecasts and warnings.”
