Plans for a new music venue in a Wiltshire town have been approved by Wiltshire Council.
A planning application to convert a disused former car garage, on Union Road in Chippenham, was given the go-ahead on Thursday, September 5.
The proposal will see the unit, which sits next to Cousin Norman’s cafe and bar, transformed into a community event space, recording studio, and performing arts practice space.

Artel31, the firm that acted as an agent on the application, has previously confirmed that arts groups in the area have expressed interest in using the venue.
Artel31 believes the development is a “unique opportunity” for the town.

In its design statement, a spokesperson said: “We would envision this space being used for local arts markets, performances, workshops, events, and exhibitions alongside music and drama practice.
“This is a unique opportunity for Chippenham and would bring a great benefit to the local area and music scene.”
Wiltshire Council has approved the scheme with a condition that a noise management plan must be submitted before it is brought into use.
