Insecure scaffolding on an overloaded truck gave police officers “that Final Destination feeling”.

The reference is to a horror movie scene in which poles come loose from a truck, causing disaster for the driver behind.

The truck on the M4 was stopped by the Roads Policing Unit on Thursday, September 5 and found to weigh 5,280 kilograms.

The driver was sent to court and the vehicle was prohibited. Wiltshire Specialist Operations shared: “#RPU had that final destination feeling following this along the M4, overloaded and insecure load means this transit it off to destination Badbury!”

Later in the day, RPU shared a number of other vehicles with unsafe loads, including one lorry that was shedding a pile of black material piled up on the back.

The HGV was reported by a member of the public, stopped and papers were issued.

A third vehicle was found to be nearly 500 kilograms overweight. A further inspection of the van found it needed two front tyres and working rear lights.

The van was prohibited and driver reported.
