A former escape room owner who closed his business just one month ago has been charged with illegal driving and resisting police.
John Tanner, of Lewis Close in Abbey Meads, Swindon, was arrested on Marlborough High Street at approximately 3.40pm on August 31.
It comes after a police officer from the serious collision investigation team attempted to stop a Land Rover being driven on a provisional driving licence and without L plates.
After a check with Drive Insured, the officer also confirmed Tanner did not have any insurance to drive the vehicle.
The 35-year-old, who previously ran Escape Room HQ in Swindon and axe-throwing venue Enigma Rooms in Chippenham, has now been charged with obstructing/resisting a constable in the execution of duty, driving without third-party insurance, and driving otherwise in accordance of a driving licence.
He is now due to appear at Swindon Magistrates Court on September 18.
A police spokesperson said: “We would like to thank the members of the public who assisted the officer, who was single-crewed at the time, before their colleague's arrival.
"If you know someone that is driving without a driving licence or insurance you can report it via the Wiltshire police online reporting tool or anonymously through CrimeStoppers."
