Drivers have been warned to avoid a host of rolling road closures during a Wiltshire town’s half marathon.

This year’s Chippenham Half Marathon will take place on Sunday, September 15.

During the popular event, motorists in the area will have to avoid a number of key roads in and around the town, including the A420 stretching from near Chippenham Town Football Club to the town centre.

Several town centre roads, including The Bridge and the High Street, will also be used for the competition.

The majority of the roads set to be affected on the day of the event will be subject to rolling road closures, meaning they will shut to allow competitors to pass before reopening to traffic as soon as is safely possible.

The timings of these road closures will depend upon the progress of the race, but it is expected that rolling closures will start at 9am and finish at around 1pm.
