A PLETHORA of exciting events will take place in Cirencester over the next few weeks.

Bands in the Park concludes this month at the Abbey Grounds bandstand between 2.30pm and 4.30pm each Sunday.

Rounding off another great summer season, the Salvation Army Band, Jazz Friday, Gloucester Brass, and the grand finale from Cirencester Band will take place on Sunday, September 22.

Other events to look out for in September, in addition to the regular Charter, Farmers’, Arts & Crafts and indoor markets, include:

Twilight Markets, Market Place – September 14 and September

General Market, Market Place – September 21

Vegan Market, Market Place – September 22

Vintage and Artisan Fair, Corn Hall – September 29.

Meanwhile the mop fairs are taking place on October 7 and October 14.

Keeping with the changes made last year to be more sympathetic with town centre businesses, the roads will be closed from 4pm on Sunday, October 6 and Sunday, October 13 until midnight on the Monday.

The road closures will be managed by the AA who will be responsible for signage, diversions etc.

More details to follow but the dates of the towns Advent Markets, light switch-on and Christmas Markets have been released.

Road closures will be in place between 5.30pm on Friday, November 29 to midnight on Sunday, December 1. Arrangements will be the same as with the Mop Fairs.
