A hotel in Wiltshire has been put up for sale for more than £1 million.
7even 8ight hotel is run privately as a 10-bedroom hotel that functions like a bed and breakfast on Kingsbury Street in Marlborough, but now the property is up for sale for £1.7 million.
From the outside, most residents recognise the place as Bite Me Burger & Get Plucked restaurant, but the popular restaurant is owned by the hotel above and next to it.
It works across two buildings (seven and eight Kingsbury Street) which are both included in the sale and can be bought separately for £875,000 each.
Estate agent Savills has also described the property as benefitting from a ground-floor restaurant, trade kitchen, basement accommodation, a walled garden, and planning consent for additional hotel rooms and catering space.
The reason for putting the hotel up for sale is currently unclear.
“The property is located on Kingsbury Street just 100 metres north of the junction of High Street and Oxford Street,” said a spokesperson for Savills.
“The business is privately owned and operated remotely by our clients and has built a solid reputation as one of Marlborough's best boutique hotel venues.
“Business is derived from a wide range of domestic and overseas visitors as well as from Marlborough College."
The estate agency added: “Room occupancy rates are around 75 per cent and there is scope to develop the wedding and events business with implementation of the planning works.
“The ground floor restaurant is operated on reduced days and is also used as a development kitchen for our client's business, Bite Me Burger.”
The 17th-century building at number seven boasts original wooden beams and unique features while number eight is a townhouse with seven additional rooms.
Although 7even 8ight Hotel is not individually listed, it is part of a wider Grade II listed area of Marlborough and is located in a Conservation Area.
The property was first listed as ‘for sale’ in May 2024 and is continuing to operate as a hotel until a sale is made.
